Welcome/Intro/FAQ!
Hello, and welcome to solarpunks! I created this community after moving to Dreamwidth from tumblr, to provide a space for solarpunk discussion on Dreamwidth. Feel free to post discussion posts, share your solarpunk fiction or fanfic, and just about anything else solarpunk you can think of!
1. Please don't post links unless you also post some text about them. For example, if you see an article etc about a new, solarpunk-esque technology, your post shouldn't just be the link. It should also include a few lines about your thoughts on it, or maybe a question about it. Basically, we want to start discussion!
2. Be kind! Hopefully this goes without saying, given the nature of solarpunk. But no ableism, racism, LGBTQA+ phobia, sexism, or any other -ism will be tolerated here.
3. For original work, please don't give criticism unless the creator has indicated that they are okay with it, and make sure it's constructive criticism.
4. Please put relevant trigger warnings on posts, and place the potentially triggering material behind a cut.
5. Please use cuts for images and long posts!
Feel free to use this post to introduce yourself! If you aren't sure what to say, here's an intro template (use whichever parts of it you like):
Currently there's no FAQs!

What should we call you and what pronouns do you use?
Call me Kathryn! She/her pronouns :)
How did you find out about solarpunk?
I first found out about solarpunk through tumblr posts. Someone I follow over there started sharing a lot of solarpunk posts, and I looked into it more and realised how cool it seemed!
What's your favourite thing about solarpunk?
My favourite thing is the sheer variety of ways that people engage with the genre and with solarpunk in reality. Genre-wise, there's the rapid explosion of subgenres/subcultures like lunarpunk, and in reality, there's so many people sharing tips and advice for how to live a more solarpunk lifestyle in their area. It's great!
Anything else you'd like us to know>
I'm a writer, and I'm currently working on a solarpunk novel (started for NaNoWriMo 2018). I'm also doing my MA in Creative & Critical Writing, and I'll be writing my dissertation about climate change in fiction!
